23 weeks!

Week 23! Gosh, it's hard to believe that in just a few short weeks I will be entering into my 3rd triamester! That is so crazy to me! Although I feel like I am nowhere near ready for this little one to arrive, we have actually been working hard in preperation of his arrival. This past weekend, my parents made the drive to Knoxville to help up with some lovely house renovations. We had several goals in mind for the weekend and did a pretty good job accomplishing all of them. As many of you know, we are finishing our basement for the second time now due to flooding. So...one of the goals on the list was to finish all the painting in the basement so we could move one of the guests rooms down there and clear out the upstairs for baby Luke's room. The next task at hand was to repaint the room upstairs where baby Luke will live. As you saw in a previous post, John and I decided to paint Luke's room in horizontal gray and white stripes. While I am very excited about the outcome of this project, I must tell you that it is taking a lot of work to make this look good. I never realized just how hard it would be to make horizontal stripes look good. The littles slip of the hand and your whole line is off. We had some help from Sheryl due to the fact that I don't know if John and I would have had the patience to complete this task alone. Ha.

This coming weekend we are off to Ponte Vedra Beach for Easter. It is going to be a short weekend but a very full one none the less. We are only staying Friday through Sunday but in that amount of time we will be visiting with tons of friends and family and even having my first baby shower! I am so excited to see all my cousins and share in this special time with them. The shower will be Saturday afternoon and then of course we will have all the Easter festivities on Sunday. Every year there is a huge Easter Egg hunt at the Lazzara house and this year John and I are all about it! All the eggs are filled with money, so this will be a nice little bonus to put into Luke's nursery pot. haha. Watch out! Anyways, here are a few pics from the past week. Enjoy!

PS: I just discovered Etsy this week if you can't tell! ha

A picture of the tape lines we had to put up in order to

paint the gray and white stripes.

This is just a cute bath towel I found on Etsy.

I haven't purchased it yet but I think it's adorable.

A monogrammed minky dot boppy cover. Cute don't you think?

I never thought I would want to put a baby boy in a newborn gown but

I am starting to reconsider. I think they look so sweet.

AND WE HAVE A NAME!!!!!

Well after almost 22 weeks of trying out every possible name combination, I think John and I have finally settled on one that we will love forever! We spent a lot of time thinking about a name that would mean something to us but still give our little boy his own identity. We looked at tradtional names, we looked at trendy names and even family names. When it came down to it, only one name really stuck with us and meant something at the same time. First, we decided we were going to use my fathers name some where in our childs name. My dad and I have always been extremely close and I would love nothing more than to use his name in honor of him. He is honestly the best man that I know and I am so lucky to have a dad that I am so close with. I talk to my dad every morning and probably 2 more times through out the day. He is such a wonderful father and I know that he is going to be an even more wonderful grandfather (or PAPA as he would like to be called.) Next, we were looking for another name that we knew we were going to use as our little boys first name. We wanted to pick a name that we would like just as much 10 years down the road. There were only a few that John and I could agree on and one of them just "fit". As soon as we tested out the two names together, we knew we had made our decision. Well here it is..... William Luke Taylor. He will go by Luke but we just liked the way it sounded better putting William as a first name. It is more traditional than I ever thought I would chose but I really do love it. It has a lot of meaning for us and we also just like the name Luke! Hopefully I will not have a crazy pregnancy moment and change the name up in the hospital room, but as of today his name is William Luke Taylor. Hope u like it!

Here is a special post just for Jayme! I have been on the phone with Jayme for the past hour while she begged me to put up a new pic of my stomach! Needless to say I had been avoiding her request for most of the conversation but I finally caved. So here it is.....

Lets just say it is definitely obvious I'm preggers now! ha

Our new Bob!

Lucy Goosey

Ok, by now most all of my friends have either talked to Lucy or heard me talk about her nonstop. I figured that I would post a few pics of the adorable little girl that I spend my days with. Lucy is 2 1/2 and absolutely adorable! She is the reason I want a little girl one day. She is so girly and loves nail polish and lip gloss. She is so much fun and I cant wait to have a little girl just like her one day!

20 weeks!

This past Monday (3/28/10) was my 20 week checkup. This appointment is a big one! It is the appointment when virtually you find out if your baby is progressing at a normal speed and if it has all his parts/organs. When we first arrived to the appointment, I was much more calm than I expected I would be. I thought that I would be super anxious and nervous to have them check for all his major parts. It's such a big deal, but I just think I had a peace about it because I knew I would love this baby no matter what we found out today.

Right when we went into the ultrasound room, they got started. They had me hop up onto the table and we dove right into looking for everything. Lucky for us, Luke (yes this is what I think his name is going to be) was lying facing down so we got a great view of his spine. We were able to take some very good measurements of his spine and he is right on track of where he needs to be. Thank goodness he isnt short already or I would really feel bad. (My biggest fear...having a boy thats 5'2! Oh well that and Stretch marks. ha) The next thing they looked for was his heart and all its chambers. They also look for the main veins and ventricles to his heart. All of which were present and accounted for! Next they look for his organs, like his kidneys, bladder, lungs, etc. After that they moved onto his brain. That was really need to already see his little brain working. Maybe that means he is going to be smarter than his momma. Gosh lets hope so. ha. After all was said and done, we got a great 4D picture of his little face. That was a really sweet moment. We had just heard that everything looked great and then were able to see his face! Although it was still distorted cause of the lack of fat, it was still neat to see. The doctor told us that if we wanted a better idea of what he will look like than we needed to come back for a 4D ultrasound at around 28 weeks. Apparently thats when they start to fatten up and look more like they will around the time of delivery. All and all, the day was a great day! We got a good report and feel really good about our little ones progress! Now we only have 20 more weeks till we get to see him in person!

It's a BOY!
