Who knew choosing baby items would be so overwhelming?!?

WoW! If you would have asked me 4 months ago or even 4 weeks ago if I was excited about picking out toys and baby items for my little one I would have said YES! Now, I dont know where that excitement went. There are SO many options for EVERYTHING! It is so overwhelming to think about what all my little one will need and what is going to be the best option for him/her. One saving grace that I do have is my sister-in-law. Kelly recently had an adorable little boy named Hank. He is just the cutest and she has done an amazing job picking out stuff for him. She and I have some very similar qualities (cough cough), possibly a little type A, and I totally trust her oppinion so it has been nice having her as a reference. So far I have purchased a pack and play and picked out the stroller and car seat I would like. Besides that, I am at a loss. I have a few different items that I think are "cute" but who knows if they are actually any good. Hopefully, once I find out the gender of our little nugget, I will be able to make some more decisions. On that note, check back in this Monday for the gender of the baby! Our Appointment is at 10:00 am so hopefully I will have a chance to update the blog later that night. xoxo

12 weeks 1 day

Yay!!! I'm officially in my second trimester!!! I was beginning to wonder if I would ever make it past the 12 week mark?!? I had my 12 week doctors appointment and screening today where the doctor does a number of test to screen for any abnormalities in the baby such as down syndrome or spina bifida. Going into the ultrasound room, I can honestly say that even though I had a feeling that we were going to recieve good news, I was still extremely nervous due to the fact that anything is possible. Turns out that all of our prayers were answered and everything looks wonderful as of now! It was such a great feeling to just hear that everything was on track and looked just as it should. After I recieved the good news, I was able to relax and actually take in all that I was seeing. This was the first time that my baby actually looked like a BABY! It had a profile and arms and legs and even fingers and toes. I was the craziest feeling knowing that the little person I saw on the screen was inside of me! Although I could have told you that this weekend due to the fact that I got my first glimpse of a bump this Saturday. John and I had a good laugh when we were out walking the neighborhood on Sat and noticed that my shirt looked a little different that it ever had before. I was shocked when I realized that I was actually beginning to show. Crazy but I guess what do I expect when im barely 5'1. There just isnt much room to grow anywhere but out. uhhh. Hopefully this will be the only place I grow. ha. Anyways, below are two pictures from the ultrasound today. Hope you enjoy! xoxo
